    Isn't this part replacement for an Ignition lock cylinder, not an ignition switch?

    We did the rear brakes on my son's Mustang many years ago (2000 something model) and instead of using a tool to screw in the rear calipers (because I wasn't aware of it), I used a large needle nose pliers. Yes, it was more difficult, but it got the job done. After cleaning the surface of the axle flange, I use some kind of lubricant such as a light coat of anti seize to help prevent rust from forming in the future. Bare metal will just rust again. Thanks again, we'll be replacing his CX5 brakes soon.

      Hello! Thank you for posting your question. The way you describe your issue it seems that your car has a problem with the blend doors either stuck the actuator (s) no longer working. If the rear a/c works good. I will start looking at the front (blend doors or actuators). I hope this helps keep me posted.

    Seems simple enought. BUT. Wouldn't that cause low charging volt or something not normal during the charging system test done at the battery? Mine shows charging during the test but volt meter drops below 12 while driving and that cut the ac blower off. Goes back to normal 3 seconds later.

    Did this car have abs? Im finding conflicting info on whether I need to order an axle with an ABS ring or not.

    • @gqautodiagnostics
      @gqautodiagnostics 11 днів тому

      Hello! Good question. Most of the new c axle comes with the abs ring. An axle with an abs ring would not damage anything if it is installed in a non abs vehicle. Let me know if you have any other questions. God bless

    Did you reuse the output shaft seal, C-clip retainers, and the washers? If so, any issues from reusing them or did you buy the new ones?

    • @gqautodiagnostics
      @gqautodiagnostics 12 днів тому

      Hello! That is a good question. If you will reuse the same axle you can reuse the c clip. The new axle comes with a new c clip. If the output shaft seal is NOT leaking you can reuse it. Be careful not to damage it when you remove the axle. Let me know if you have any other questions. God bless

    Maybe I should’ve had the shop I just used watch this video first. I did want to make a couple comments I found out. I heard somebody to do this, and then ended up ripping me off for a couple grand because they needed the money for the parts that they never actually install. (They did install a new belt that had broken.) They were supposed to repair what you did and instead he actually sabotaged the return hose that goes from the overflow tank into the engine and splits in two parts the hose that connects to the water pump and another hose, which the new Mechanic I found, never specified what it was. I wanted to point out a couple things I see these also made of aluminum the pipe you’re going to replace some color coolant pipe some cold heater pipe. But for some reason the aluminum ones they say are for supercharged 5L engines. But as far as I can tell, the pipe is the same as the plastic one. But I could find no one to tell me any reason the aluminum one wouldn’t work on a naturally aspirated engine. The other thing I found out from the mechanic that fixed with the rip off guy did was that some parts for Land Rover are exactly the same, but with a different part number for Land Rover. Those silicone gaskets that go in the valves that you taped over; I think for the Land Rover 5L NA V-8 they were less than half the price for the same part for a Jaguar 5L NA V-8. So if you see the same part for Land Rover and it looks exactly the same as the one for jaguar it probably is the same part because they are the same engine. Hopefully you gave the old parts to the owner of the car so he knew exactly what was replaced and how much work you put into it because the guy who fixed my car after the mechanic ripped me off other than the pipe you’re replacing that I supplied and the other stuff I ordered that he said was needed. He said he replaced another hose but I have no idea which one it was and he didn’t save the old one for me which I wish he would’ve. Because I developed a new leak and the first week that you’re repairing in this video there was splatter under the hood from where it came out from under the engine cover and also underneath the engine cover in the back of the engine. The new leak is coming from the front Doing the same thing splatter in the edges under the hood and the front of the engine cover so I know that the leak is coming from somewhere in the vicinity of the water pump or any other hoses or pipes in the front of the vehicle Were the S belt and everything is. I know this is a bit long but if you manage to bother reading if you have an idea maybe you could give me your input because I gave a shop $800 for a brand new water pump that was marked up 100% from retail plus their labor as well as 2 gallons of coolant that I supplied For somethings that I think didn’t need to be done because a couple days after they did it and the air got out of the system. The same leak started all over again which makes me think they didn’t need to replace the water pump and they just Jack me around or maybe it was an honest mistake but still I’m pretty upset that I spent almost $1000 for nothing. No, the other thing is it doesn’t leak when the engine is warm only after it’s sat for six to eight hours or more! Because the shop that told me it was the water pump said I needed to leave it overnight so they could see where the leak was coming from because they let it idle for hours at their shop, and nothing leaked at all. My replacement Mechanic installed that we are pipe that you’re doing. He also installed the one that came that bolted into the front of the engine which I don’t know if I’ve seen in your video because it had a buildup of orange coolant calcified so we have been leaking for a long time. Anyway, if you have any ideas, what would leak ONLY when it was COOLED OFF? If you bother to read this I want to thank you for your time. Take care!

    • @gqautodiagnostics
      @gqautodiagnostics 14 днів тому

      Thank you for the explanation. And I am sorry to hear about your car troubles. The aluminum pipe is an updated part due to the expected failure of the plastic one. You or your mechanic should use OEM. I understand that OEM parts can be more expensive, however it can save you a lot of time and time is money. The best way to find the leak is to pressurize the system when the car is cold to find the source of the problem. You can rent a coolant pressure tester at your local auto parts store and get your money back afterward. I don't know where you are located, but you can also buy parts at Parts Authority, which has many parts for Jaguar, and you can save money without compromising quality. I hope you can find the problem. Keep me posted.

    BEFORE U REPLACE MOTOR, READ THIS AND SAVE MONEY...Great video. What I found was the piece of metal rod from motor to divertor door causing the noise. The clip holding it broke. So as the motor spins that piece of metal is Jamming the motor making that clicking noise. Bad thing Honda doesn't sell those clips. Will have to buy Door Lock replacement clips from Oreillys or Autozone. I got lucky and honda tech had clip close to one broken. So I pushed in and took tiny tiewrap around clip and rod. Problem fixed.
